WHY DO TRESSLETS EXIST?
Tresslets began with a simple problem: hair accessories do not keep up with the people who wear them.

For all the creativity in fashion and style, conventional clips and bands are still fixed in likeness — one colour, one shape, one mood.
We wanted to make something more adaptable. Something that reflected how people really change, remix, and express themselves every day.
So we started imagining a system, not a single product. A way to make style renewable instead of disposable.

From crude sketches to CAD models and eventual resin prints, we developed a magnetic clip that lets wearers swap charms with ease — turning one core accessory into an evolving collection. We proved that our mechanism works.
We’ve now filed for patent protection (patent pending), and we’re ready to trade and grow. What began as a sketch has become a functioning modular system with the potential to reshape how people wear and collect accessories.
WHO ARE WE?
We’re three friends from South London, who’ve known each other for over sixteen years — long enough to share values, perspectives, and a drive to create.
We come from Afro-Caribbean backgrounds, and our paths through university and the workplace have given us a shared mix of technical, creative, and commercial expertise. That collective experience forms the foundation of Tresslets.
Everything you see so far has been self-funded. Every prototype and the full patent application has come from our own pockets and persistence. We’ve built Tresslets from the ground up to this point. No shortcuts — just belief, experimentation, and teamwork.
We are proud of where we’re from and what we’ve built — proof that innovation and craftsmanship can rise from anywhere when vision and community come together.
WHAT WE NEED?
Tresslets is ready for its next step. Our mechanism works, our design is refined, and our patent application is filed. What we need now is the space and stability to scale.
A dedicated workspace would let us assemble, test, photograph, and prepare our first production run — a place where design, culture, and engineering can meet under one roof.
With workspace and modest early-stage funding, we can:
